May is Here!
It’s the month of May and we’re thinning! We are well into spring, cover crop has been cut, fruit has set despite unusual spring rains and showers, and we are in the process of removing small, immature green fruit from every branch of every tree. We grow 30 varieties of peaches, and some varieties have more fruit than others, but there are peaches. We typically open Memorial Day weekend, but with the long and cooler winter/spring, it could be a June open. We’ll continue to keep you posted as the season progresses. Can’t you just taste that first ripe Rich May peach?

We’re planning summer events now and have some wonderful ones in store for you. Back by popular demand, we are hosting two John Ash dinners at the peach farm: Saturday August 3 and Sunday August 4. These private, intimate, very casual, totally fun and delicious affairs are not to be missed. We start with Bellinis and fresh peaches, walk the grounds with Brian and Gayle, sit down to a delightful table set in the orchard, enjoy delicious DaVero wines, and dine on a meal perfectly prepared by famed Chef John Ash, executed by Korbel Hospitality Director and John’s daughter Emily. All the while our Patrick and his jazz band will be playing.

Please reply if you would like to attend, including the number in your party and date. The evening filled quickly last year and space is very limited, so we added another date, and we’ll process on a first reply basis.
